Caroline Boudreaux

Caroline Boudreaux is a social entrepreneur and Founder of the Miracle Foundation. Since the organization’s inception in 2000, she has committed herself to empowering orphans to reach their full potential. She is respected as one of the most impactful non-profit leaders in the US and India.

After a chance encounter with an orphaned toddler in rural India during a vacation in 2000, Caroline left her lucrative TV advertising career and created a measurable, transparent methodology that is revolutionizing orphanages worldwide, starting in India.

With no experience in management or fundraising, Caroline invested all her life savings and founded the Miracle Foundation on the idea that all orphans deserve clean water, nutritious food, high-quality healthcare, an excellent education, and a secure, loving home, so they can reach their full potential.

Founded as an international adoption agency in 2000, the Miracle Foundation has evolved into a non-profit organization which partners with existing orphanages to empower orphans across the world. Caroline’s ultimate vision is to expand her organization’s work beyond India and bring the plight of orphans to the world’s attention.

Because of Caroline’s passion and devotion to the cause, parentless children are growing up in a happy, healthy, loving environment and can look forward to a future that includes vocational training or even a college education.

For her achievements with the Miracle Foundation, Caroline won the Hope Award in 2005 and the Impact Award in 2008. In 2009, she was invited to join the Young Global Leaders, a community of the World Economic Forum. She has been featured in various forms of media, including CNN, USA Today, People.com, and “One Peace at a Time,” a 2009 film by Turk Pipkin. In 2011, Caroline completed a prestigious course on Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century at Harvard University.

She is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Psychology.

About Miracle Foundation

“Eight million children live in institutions. Every one of them deserves a family. Let’s create miracles for them.”That sums up the core philosophy of the Miracle Foundation,a non-profit that is here to help people make a difference in the lives of orphaned children.

Based in the US and Delhi, the Miracle Foundation empowers orphans to reach their full potential. Inspired by the idea that miracles happen when you bring together those who have, with those who have not, the non-profit offers tangible, fulfilling ways for people to help orphans.

Founded on Mother’s Day in 2000, the Miracle Foundation was established by Caroline Boudreaux. Her journey to start theorganization actually began in India, where she found herself face-to-face with orphaned children for the first time. It was a series of heart-wrenching experiences at a children’s home in a rural village near Kolkata that moved Caroline. She made up her mind to initiate concerted action to support orphans around the world. And that was the beginning of a miracle that, over the years, took shape in a non-profit that is today joined by many across all ages, from all walks of life, and from all socio-economic backgrounds.

How It Works

With support

With support from the local communities, the Miracle Foundation transforms orphanages into loving homes, provides clean water and quality healthcare, and funds scholarships for education.

Because when you empower those with a lot of heart, you affect real change.

And with a system

The Miracle Foundation interventions are based on the United Nations Rights of the Child and the organization measures progress on those rights quarterly. That way, donors can clearly see the impact their investment is making.
