On Thursday, 28 November, 2019, Hon’ble President of India, Shri. Ram Nath Kovind, andthe First Lady, Smt. Savita Kovindvisited The Akshaya Patra Foundation kitchen in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.Theywere accompanied bySmt. Anandiben Patel,Governor of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Yogi Adityanath,Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.At the Foundation’s premises, they were welcomed by Shri. Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman – Akshaya Patra, Shri. Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice-Chairman – Akshaya Patra, and enthusiastic children from the Government schools in Bati, Gonda Atas, Maghera, Ramtal, Devi Atas, Bhartia, and Narayanpur.
At the Foundation’s centralised kitchen, the Hon’blePresident and other dignitaries were given a guided tour of the facility.Shri Madhu Pandit Dasa familiarized them with the kitchen equipment and processesinvolved. After the kitchen tour, he served mid-day meals to the children from Government schools and happily interacted with them. He also appreciated Akshaya Patra’s Mid-Day Meal Programme.
Shri. Madhu Pandit Dasa expressed his happinessabout the Hon’ble President visiting the Foundation’s kitchen in Vrindavan and servingmid-day meals to the beneficiary children.Shri. Chanchalapathi Dasa said that the Vrindavan kitchen was the second centralised kitchen to be set upby Akshaya Patraand thanked the President for interacting with the children and encouraging them.
