Shukranu is a comedy movie with a social drama. The lead actor of the movie Inder (Divyenndu) who lives in delhi where he works as a chief supervisor in a factory and falls in love with a girl Akriti (Sheetal Thakur) who is very attractive and beautiful.
Inder wanted to marry akriti who belonged to a family in which she had three brothers and her father and all of them were desi wrestlers and Akriti seemed to be a tough shot for him so upon his friend’s suggestion he decides to marry the girl of his parents’ choice Reema (Shweta Bhanu Prasad).
The story takes a turn when just two days before his marriage, the groom to be is forcefully sterilized as the story is a plot set around the 70’s which was termed as the dark period of the Indian history where a major emergency was declared to control the population and the orders were passed to sterilise all the men that had more than 2 children.
In the latest release of ZEE5 Originals Sukranu movie talks about this topic which is termed as the darkest phase of the Indian democracy and is not much explored, along with making it humorous and love triangle, thereby touching such a sensitive topic and keeping the interest of the viewers at the same time.
Inder kept a secret about his sterilization and wasn’t able to enjoy a healthy married life with his wife but later after consulting a sexologist e learns that he can still enjoy his sex life with at most fun and then started living a happy married life.
Bishnu Dev Halder”s film take an awkward turn when Inder was away from his wife in delhi and gets a letter from his dad that his wife is expecting a baby. Inder gets very disturbed on hearing this and thinks his wife is having an affair as he no longer has the capability of being a father. Aakriti being unaware about Inder’s marriage shows interest in marring him. Inder justifies him on deciding to be with Akriti as he has already assumed is wife having an affair and cheating on him in the first place.
The story talks about the two girls loving the same man where one is a town girl who is a dream girl of all the boys in town while the other is a simple village girl and the man who won’t be able to be a father due to the mishappening.
It also depicts how the doctors were doing unaccountable operations and was just focused at completing their targets and the hospital staff were forcefully bringing volenteers to do it at just rs. 200. Several people died during this operation and no one was held responsible for it.
There were many rich people who went through a re operation to reverse the process of sterilization.
There are many plots build up and the story keeps on taking up new turns. Must watch the whole movie to witness the climax of the story and who is the father of Reema’s baby and who does Inder live his life with Reema or Akriti and what will happen when Inder’s truth gets revealed.
