Recognized for its contribution to the education sector at recently held Education Excellence Awards
New Delhi, July 17, 2019: World University of Design (WUD), India’s first and only University dedicated to education in the creative domain has been awarded the prestigious Assocham Award for the ‘Most Upcoming University’ of the year, 2019 at the Edu Meet 2019 (Innovation and Employment) and Education Excellence Awards held in Kolkata recently. The award recognizes the University’s significant contribution towards promoting design education, through its efforts towards innovation, R&D and cutting-edge trans disciplinary programs.
“This recognition from ASSOCHAM is a great validation of our efforts to provide world class creative education to the students and is indeed a huge responsibility bestowed upon us. World University of Design represents a vibrant, dynamic, and distinctive community of students. It is our endeavour to help students examine and engage with multiple artists, designers, and change leaders across the world, to gather different perspectives on why design matters and how design thinking can help redefine the future.,” said Dr Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, World University of Design.
“Diverse pedagogy, trans-disciplinary programs and excellence in art and design education has helped the World University of Design to get this award, which recognizes efficacy, excellence and contribution in the education sector on an annual basis”, he further added.
Established in 1920, ASSOCHAM has emerged as the fountainhead of knowledge for Indian industry, that aims to redefine the dynamics of growth and development the knowledge-based economy.
With proliferation of digital technologies and further advances in artificial intelligence & augmented reality, WUD will be adding new competencies over the physical world. This will offer immense scope to teachers to convey natural and vivid encounters from excitement to instruction and human services, to a wide range of enterprises in India.
WUD considers international exposure as a quintessential part of design education and aims to provide abundant opportunities to its students to explore and experience various nuances of this facet of education. Such exposure enhances a student’s personality and broadens the vision.
