colours of clay: The colors of clay ranges from black to dark down,yellow,red,green,gray to white.clay is used to prepare talcum powder.it is an excellent deodorant and is effective for sticky feet and hands.it can also be applied on infants.
Temperature for mud: while preparing clay for application on the body,the temperature may vary.clay may be used in cold,hot and warm form.
Methods of application: Depending on the type of health problem,the methods of application can also vary. External application in the form of mud bath,mud packs,compress and poultice can also be undertaken. it can also be applied locally on the abdomen and face.
1. Mud pack for face: Fine mud paste is applied on the face and allowed to dry. The recommended is 30 minutes.

2. Mud pack for eyes: Soaked mud of half inch thickness is placed in a 20 X 15 cm size wet cloth,folded on all sides and placed on the eyes for 20-30 minutes.

3. Mud bath: It is given in a special cubicle where the patient can be exposed to sunlight. The mud paste may be exposed to sunlight. The mud paste may be applied to the patient in a sitting or lying down position for 45-60 minutes. Avoid mud bath during fever and in case of open sores.
