Ritu Saini, the acid attack fighter and a member of Laxmi Agarwals’ initiative ‘Stop Acid Attacks’, walked the ramp as a showstopper for the NextGen Fresh Talent, Disha Chadha in the Asian Designer Week 2017. The 3-day fashion extravaganza is going on at the Talkatora Stadium from 5-7th April 2017.
Ritu walked the ramp in Disha Chadha’s latest collection named ‘For Example’ which is designed for the modern gypsy. Inspired by the saying ‘Beauty Lies Within’, every single outfit from the collection symbolizes the beauty and strength of a woman. The collection was made to be embraced by the gypsies, painters, artists, filmmakers, travelers, handcrafters and basically anybody who lives a life webbed by their passion. Denim, being the most versatile fabric was used to the core in the collection, in a new ‘Indie-Denim’ avatar. A denim lehenga reflecting the story of woman was the centre of attraction in the collection. Giving an insight to the collection, the designer Disha Chadha said, “The collection stems out from the concept, ‘Beauty Lies Within’ and Ritu was the perfect person to reflect the concept beautifully. The motifs and patterns on the denims are Indie-Boho. Otherwise considered as a western fabric, we’ve tried to give it an Indian touch.” Ritu represented the same passion for the cause and reflected the beauty of the collection through her strong personality.
Reminiscing her experience in the Asian Designer Week 2017, Ritu said that “What caught my attention was the theme of the collection which was ‘Embracing the inner beauty.’ Although, I’ve participated in various fashion shows & events, Asian Designer Week is special as it has given me a great opportunity and an international exposure.”
Mr. Robby Rawat, Managing Director – iGenius Entertainment, said “The 4th of the Asian Designer Week commenced with a grand opening ceremony. We are very happy with the response from the entire fashion fraternity. The Platform of ADW is open to budding talent; we have tried to bridge the gap between the national and international fashion scenario by showcasing the best of the Asian continents.”
